From its start Orion has had strong specialist fire capabilities and has grown its fire business substantially over the last 10 years.  To further support this growth, we are pleased to announce our appointment as a Gent by Honeywell Integrator.  The Gent product range provides us with a Managed Protocol solution that delivers many fire safety engineering advantages.  The impressive technology and reliability of the Gent equipment has, for decades, made it the preference of many leading specifiers, consultants, companies and organisations.

Top Safety Accreditation

Orion has been awarded accreditation from Safecontractor for its commitment to achieving excellence in health and safety.

 

Safecontractor is a leading third party accreditation scheme which recognises very high standards in health and safety management amongst UK contractors.

 

Employing 71 people, Orion is principally involved in the retail sector, specialising in the security and fire industries and with a £11 million turnover. Orion’s most recent clients have included major players such as TESLA and ARQIVA.

 

The company’s application for Safecontractor accreditation was driven by the need for a uniform standard across the business. Stephen Taylor, Operations Director said, “Major organisations simply cannot afford to run the risk of employing contractors who are not able to prove that they have sound health and safety policies in place.”

Appointed by UHBT for the installation of CCTV and Access Control including repair and maintenance.

UHBT is a dynamic and thriving group of hospitals in the heart of Bristol, a vibrant and culturally diverse city.  The 7,900 staff offer over 100 different clinical services across nine different sites. With services from the neonatal intensive care unit to care of the elderly, they offer care to the people of Bristol and the South West from the very beginning of life to its later stages.

Orion appointed a dedicated team, Gary Worlock and Alex Ell who have knowledge and experience both of the site and the security equipment.

Appointed by ARQIVA

Appointed by ARQIVA to carry out security installation and maintenance to over 30 locations across the UK.

A communications infrastructure and media services company, ARQIVA operate at the heart of the broadcast, satellite and mobile communications markets.  They have been working behind the scenes connecting people and organisations as they go about their everyday lives for 90 years.

‘Gateway’ is ARQIVA’s site access booking system which was launched in 2007 as a means of setting a new benchmark for site access, ensuring security is paramount.  All Orion employees that attend ARQIVA sites have completed the online site access induction course and have a site specific permit.  The induction course provides details on ARQIVA’s expectations and standards that we adhere too.

Appointed by TESLA

Appointed by Tesla to carry out security installations across Europe.

Tesla Motors was founded in 2003 by a group of intrepid Silicon Valley engineers who set out to prove that electric vehicles could be awesome.  They now have over 2000 employees and are rolling out a series of stores and service locations worldwide.

Orion are expanding our customer base in Europe by carrying out installations of security systems to Tesla Service Centres.  We have already completed work at Berlin, Brussels, Dusseldorf, Frankfurt, Hamburg, Munich and Stuttgart.

Orion is ‘Altius Assured’

Orion Security Solutions has received assured vendor status from Altius the SSIP (Safety Schemes in Procurement) company chosen by MML (Maintenance Management Limited) to assess their contractors.

Our accreditations are reviewed on an on going basis for example CHAS (Contractors Health & Safety Assessment Scheme) and SAFEcontractor by way of inspections and online questionnaires.  The information we provide at these times of review is gathered from what our employees do on a daily basis, e.g Risk and Method Statements, Checklists, Inspections and Audit Reports.

Time to Upgrade

Time to Upgrade with John Lewis  The John Lewis flagship store on Oxford Street, London, has had an upgrade of all its business protection systems. Part of the installation was Pelco by Schneider Electric Spectra HD cameras, supplied by the distributor Norbain SD. The retailer reports that the system has improved operations and security at the store, receiving good feedback from staff and police alike.
